More thoughts from Sarah with only six days to go until the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii-it is fast approaching.
Read her diary entry below:
This morning began with a very hot and steamy run on the run course along the Queen K highway. All I could see for miles and miles was long, undulating bitumen flanked by lava fields on either side.
We recovered with a catch up over coffee with an athlete from Great Britain that we had met while in New Zealand racing the Ironman.
This afternoon a turtle joined us on our recovery swim on the swim course. It was lovely just splashing around with him just cruising along beside us!
We are now enjoying pizza and wine at the Kona legendary hang out Island Lava Java, whilst watching the sunset over the ocean.
Another perfect day in Hawaii
